LE SMITH Mt Pleasant BONBON Candy DISH BLACK AMETHYST / STERLING SILVER OVERLAY

Description

This is a handled bon bon candy dish in the Mt. Pleasant pattern made of black amethyst by L. E. Smith. Mt. Pleasant is also known as Double Shield. Ca. 1920's-1934. It features "sterling" silver overlay decorations. The dish is about 7 1/2" L x 5 1/2" W x 2 1/2" high. Some straw marks and some sterling wear. There is one small chip on the edge of a handle...please see last two photos...one up close and one from a distance. Sterling needs a light cleaning. A hard to find Depression era piece!
